Christmas 2015

This was our second year having Christmas with just the four of us. It was great, but we did miss our families. Lincoln and Zalie got spoiled (shocker!) and we had a lot of fun. Chad had a whole week off, so we planned on doing some fun day trips across VA, but then we all got sick, so it was a nice holiday spent with family relaxing at home.

We spent a rainy night seeing the lights at the DC temple. It was very pretty, but cold. We didn't last long.

We decorated maple bacon cookies. The mix was on sale so I bought it. It was a mistake. They were so gross. But that didn't stop the kids from devouring them and over-indulging in frosting.

They are so easy to please. We shouldn't have gotten anything else for them.

We spent an afternoon at the National Firearms Museum where Zalie played Goldilocks and had to test out all the chairs.

We spent a Sunday afternoon at the Frying Pan Farm with Kevin, Ruth, Kyle and Marie.

We spent a day in DC with Kevin and Ruth and it was so fun! Went to the American History Museum and the National Archives. We saw the First Ladies dresses, the Star Spangled Banner, the Sunstone, Dorthy's ruby slippers, the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence, among other things.

Then we had Shake Shack and called it a night!

It was a fun stay-cation. I guess it helps to live near such cool things!
