We successfully made it to Geneva! But before we get to that, we also had an awesome time in Utah with both of our families. We first spent a couple of days with Emily's family in Alpine. Lincoln loved spending time with his cousin and seeing Uncle Gavin before he leaves for his mission.
We then went up north to spend time with Chad's family (after a brief pit stop at Training Table of course). We got to see all of Chad's siblings and all of Lincoln's cousins on the Turner side. Lincoln's cousins couldn't get enough of him.
The wrist bands are his knee pads (darn carpet burns).
Lincoln was consistently the center of attention.
Lincoln and the grass aren't exactly best of friends.
Lincoln's favorite toy!
Lincoln is quite the ladies' man.
The day after the wedding we boarded a plane and headed for Europe. Fortunately the rather unpleasant news we had received from an Air Canada representative that we didn't have seats on the last leg of our journey (from Montréal to Geneva) turned out to be untrue. Lincoln was really good on the flight from Salt Lake to Denver and on the one from Montréal to Geneva. We don't want to talk about the flight from Denver to Montréal.

After arriving in Geneva and clearing customs with ease, we rented a car and headed to our new home for the summer, Annemasse France. We love the picturesque surroundings of the Swiss Alps and this French town is rather quant. We're within walking distance of pretty much everything and the Church is only a few blocks away (looks like Emily will be forced to learn some French on Sundays since there's only a French ward in Annemasse and no buses run on Sundays to take us to Geneva).

We fit three months worth of luggage and three people in this tiny Mazda 2.
First thing we bought (there weren't any baguettes but those came next).
The next day Chad started work. The people at his firm are really nice and they all have been very complimentary about his rather rusty French. It's been pretty rainy all week, but we did get out and do some sight seeing in Annemasse and Lincoln has had a lot of fun being at home with Emily and playing all day.
Lincoln frequently backs into corners.
Luckily, we live just down the street from a grocery store and we've made trips rather frequently to buy things for Chad's lunch and meals for ourselves (Chad has already purchased 4 new cheeses and tried 3 of them, his cheese blog is going to grow by leaps and bounds). On one of our trips Emily put Lincoln's monkey hat in her jacket pocket and then we left the store. When we got home we realized that the hat was no where to be found. It had fallen out of Emily's pocket back at the grocery store. At least we learned early on that Emily's pockets are probably a pick-pocket's dream, so she won't be storing anything important in them as we tour Europe.

Emily said that this day Lincoln was missing Jackson (so he asked for a mohawk) and he was missing Uncle Devan (so he asked for his shark shirt).
Starting in June we'll have an actual internet connection at our apartment so we should be able to blog and stay in contact more frequently. Today we've been having all sorts of fun in Geneva (Chad found a used book store). We're blogging from a shopping mall. Soon enough we'll be able to stay in better touch. Until then, à tanôt from France.
