This week Chad had Spring Break. Since opportunities to do things together as a family are getting somewhat limited we decided to capitalize on his being home for a week by doing some of the fun things we haven't yet done in North Carolina. On Monday Chad went to Pembroke and helped people with their wills (yeah, not one of the "fun" things to do). But the rest of the week he was all ours and we had lots of fun. Unfortunately, we also purchased a new camera so there are lots of photos in this post and a lot more we could have put in. Enjoy!
We began our adventures with a drive out to the Outer Banks (Kitty Hawk to be precise), where we saw the Wright Brothers Memorial. First in Flight, NC.

| How could anyone say no to this face? |
Just taking notes about the Wright Brothers' plane. |
| Lincoln discovered how much he loves to throw sand. |
After learning all about the first flight we went to the beach and watched the waves crash upon the shore.
The next day we went to the other end of the Outer Banks and visited the scenic town of Beaufort. It reminded us of Charleston. But, unlike Charleston, Beaufort is home to some of the discovered remains of the Queen Anne's Revenge, Captain Blackbeard's infamous schooner!

A little more Jack Sparrow than Blackbeard, but it works. |
| Aargh, this be eating treasure! |
| Like mother, like son. |
| Family photo! (Chad had to dye his beard for this one) |
| Hard to port! |
| A real family photo |
After our trip to OBX we went to the Temple and spent some time at home chillaxin. Then we went to the Conservators' Center near Mebane, NC. Lincoln wore his "Daddy's Little Tiger" shirt just for the occasion. We saw lions, tigers, binturongs, lemurs, leopards, servals, wolves, singing dogs, and more.

| Check out that tummy! |
| Chad's new favorite animal, the binturong. |
Lincoln loved pointing at the animals and jabbering about them. |
| This is Arthur the white tiger. |
| Lincoln had to say "bye" to Arthur as we moved on. |
Lincoln had so much fun he didn't want to go home. |
