Visit from the Butlers

A week after Chad's parents left, my parents came into town. Talk about an exciting month! They stayed for 2 weeks, but then their flight was delayed a day due to weather, so really it was 15 days. Thankfully we live in an amazing place and there was never a dull day. There is so much to do here, and we're so glad when we have visitors because we actually get out and do stuff.

Here's what we did: a day of sleeping/relaxing, walmart run to get more shirts for dad, garage sales, the National Zoo, day in DC for my parents, Frying Pan Farm and puppet show, Mount Vernon, swimming and the Air and Space Museum, canoeing around Roosevelt Island, cookout with friends, church, Manassas Battlefields, swimming and air and space, swimming and Star Trek, walk and swimming. Dad loved swimming so much that we picked him up from the pool to take him back to the airport. Their flight was delayed after already checking in their bags, so Dad flew home with soggy clothes.

First off, pics from the zoo:

Zalie discovered that she loves Cheetahs. She repeatedly pointed and shouted "cheetah!" She would not look at the camera, because that would mean looking away from the cheetah which would be absurd.

pointing and shouting "cheetah!"
Finally getting Grandpa's attention!
One picture from the Farm.

Mount Vernon, which was so cool by the way.

It's right on the Potomac, making it so gorgeous!

These 3 Ospreys were making a ton of racket.
The Air and Space Museum is always fun, especially since it's only 5 minutes away :)

US Abraham Lincoln
Here we are on the Stone Bridge at the Manassas Battlefields.

We had a canoeing adventure on the Potomac around Roosevelt Island.

"Cheeeeese!!"
It was so much fun to go to new places and spend time with my parents. Lincoln still talks about tickle bugs and silly Grandpa.
