Paris

We've spent four days in Paris now and today we leave for Montréal, so rapid-fire style here are pics and descriptions of everything we've done in Paris. We started at Notre-Dame (which Chad really liked because he read the book over the summer). The view was beautiful and the building itself was magnificent. Thanks to Lincoln's stroller, we got to go straight to the front of the line and miss waiting for an hour in the hot sun.

Then we visited some guy's tomb (OK so it was Napoleon's tomb, pretty cool).

We then visited a sculpture museum so that Emily could use the bathroom. The sculptures weren't half bad. There was even one of John the Baptist's head on a platter. Unfortunately photography wasn't allowed, so no pictures. Afterwards we headed to some big art museum with a really famous painting that's not very big. While there Lincoln spilled half a container of puffs in the elevator and the expression "pufftaster" was born.

After our adventures there we found France's hidden gem: the museum of decorative arts, fashion, and textiles. They had an exhibit on furniture. It was awesome!

We ended the day at the Orsay Museum (home to some of the world's best impressionist art), which was also rather incredible, but unfortunately photography was not allowed.

Outside the Orsay Museum.
So, in one day we visited six museums and had a great time. Day two was much the same, starting off at Versailles. Again, Lincoln's stroller saved us over an hour in line.

Lincoln learned to pick his nose in the hall of mirrors!

...and eat it.

We then visited Paris' aquarium where we saw the fish and turtles feed. Their big exhibit was Mississippi Alligators.

To finish out our day we saw the world's largest contemporary art museum and the Arc de Triomphe. Both were very impressive.

Can you say you've crawled on the top of the Arc de
Triomphe?

The next day we went to the flea market and had dinner with the Judas (Jonathan and Hélène). At the market Chad bought a couple of belt buckles and a CD. Emily almost thought about getting a tattoo at the little booth that was offering them, but she couldn't think of a cool design. Maybe next time. She did get her picture with a unicorn though.

On Sunday we went to church in Paris and then we went galavanting to Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower.

Lincoln loved the Eiffel Tower.
And so we bid goodbye to Paris as we head to Québec (land of poutine and spruce beer). We'll miss this lovely city, but at least we'll have the memories we made and the hundreds of pictures we took.
