Elementary, my dear Watson!

Farewell to Switzerland. In our final days in Switzerland (which were numbered-hence the picture of the clock) Emily and the Grandparents took Lincoln to a wading pool and Emily and Chad went on a boat cruise on Lake Geneva (Lac Léman).

Adieu Genève.

Since we only had a little bit of time after Chad took his exams, we decided to rent a car and see something that turned out to be a must-see in Switzerland. It started off with a trip to Meiringen to visit the local Sherlock Holmes museum (complete with a replication of 221b Baker Street).

Littlest Sherlock fan!

We then drove a few kilometers to Reichenbach falls where Professor Moriarty (the Napoleon of Crime) and the legend himself plummeted to their deaths (or did they?) under the natural beauty of this waterfall.

Emily Holmes.

Chad Holmes.

Lincoln (and a little bit of Chad) Holmes.

Hiking up the waterfall.

Fighting Moriarty!

This is when we told Lincoln that Sherlock
went over the falls with Moriarty...
...should have waited 'till he was older (at
least 11 months).

After experiencing these wonderful Sherlock attractions we decided we might as well go to the gorge near the falls (Aareschlucht). Turns out that was one of the most amazing things we saw in Switzerland.

Caverns built during WWII that are now sealed off.

Hiking through gorges is tiring.

So, the next time you're in Switzerland make sure you don't forget to pay a visit to the wonderful place that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle chose as the setting for the death (or did he really die?) of his famed character. And if you're lucky you might see a Ferrari F430 or get to ride a crocodile.
