After our many adventures in Europe, we finally made it to Montréal. We had a lot of luggage to get there, but fortunately everything made it (even though Chad did have to distribute 5 kilos of his books from one carry-on to the other in order to pass muster for the flight).
We made it safely to Montreal and had a great time with our friends the Heaths. Lincoln was really excited to be closer to the US and to play outside. We spent 2 days in Quebec city where we saw the falls at Montmorency. They were pretty.

So this picture was supposed to show us and the falls... oh well! The falls are behind us though I promise. |
We then went through the city and enjoyed the European flavor all over. Chad insisted on taking a picture with this weird statue so that he could compare it to the previous picture he took with it over 4 years ago. Which one do you think is his best mimic?

| Here we are at the casse-cou or the break neck stairs. They are steep stairs in Quebec city. |
We tried some maple deliciousness in taffy form. They're made by pouring hot maple syrup on ice and then rolling it onto a stick. It was cool to watch and yummy to eat.
 |
| Here we are on a city gate. The turquoise patina was so pretty! |
Lincoln's favorite times of the trip were when he was out of the stroller exploring the city in his own way. Like crawling up the stairs on top the the city gates, or hanging out on a fountain.

| This is at a fortress |
When we got to Montreal we spent some time at St. Joseph's and got this picture of us and the view of the city.
We then spent the rest of our trip in Montreal. It is a city full of unique structures like the Olympic Stadium. It is the world's biggest leaning tower.
We also went to Old Port and got to see the flow of the St. Lawrence. We decided to pose each other and this is what we came up with. (We both think Emily did a better job at posing Chad than Chad did at posing Emily).

This is an ice cream shop that we didn't actually eat at. Chad just really wanted a picture with the cow...weird right? |
We got to see the Montreal Temple! It is very pretty and reminded us of the Raleigh Temple. We got there right as the sun was setting, so the Temple was glowing. It was beautiful.
On our last day we hiked up Mont Royal and found a pretty look-out of the city. It was really pretty.
Then back to the airport. We kept Lincoln busy during the layover in Toronto by letting him push his own stroller and letting him practice his walking. He is so close to walking it's ridiculous.
Now we are back in North Carolina, but we can't get the travel bug out of us just yet! So, we are heading to Pennsylvania for a couple days to visit with the Turners there. It will be a great get away before 2L starts.
