Den Haag, hier komen we!

According to Google that should mean "The Hague, here we come!" (in Dutch of course). Before we get to actual pictures of actual stuff we've actually been doing, we thought we would let you all know that Chad has been offered an internship at the Hague Conference on Private International Law in the Hague, the Netherlands. He will be starting in January 2015 and will be working on international adoption and international child welfare. He's just a tad bit excited... and Emily is surprisingly on board with the whole thing. Call us crazy if you will, but the Turners are going abroad again , but this time we're upping our ante and adding another child.

Now, on to things we've been up to lately.

Chad finished a woodworking project with the help of a member of our ward. Voici a pichenotte board. A Québécois game where you flick pieces across the board and into the holes. Fortunately, Emily also thinks it's pretty fun.

This month we also celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary. Chad got Emily some of the coolest little gnome salt and pepper shakers, Emily got Chad a bunch of things he loves (sour patch kids, peanuts in the shell, and a hot wheels car), and Chad and Emily went to dinner at Dame's Chicken and Waffles while Lincoln stayed home with a babysitter.

For only the second time in our four years of marriage, we were actually in the U.S. for the 4th of July! Chad loves the 4th. We went to a pancake breakfast with our ward and had a cookout at our place later in the evening. At night we lit off $10 worth of fireworks (hey, we're still starving students).

Lincoln was a little unsure of the sprinkler, but learned
to love it.

Lincoln's one and only time
down the big kid water slide.

Open invitation: come to North Carolina and we'll take you to get ice cream at Maple View Farms. You can get amazing ice cream and sit on a rocking chair and watch the sunset or the corn grow. We've already been twice in the past week and Lincoln has loved it both times. There is a big cow statue on the roof that makes Lincoln moo like none other! He loves pointing out all the cows.
