Our second to last flight landed us in Iceland for a couple days. We flew Icelenadair, so out stop-over did not cost us any more in airfare. It was such a fun couple days. We stayed in the cutest place in Reykjavik. Iceland's energy comes from geothermal water, so we were encouraged to bump up the heat and take long and hot showers (which we both did). It was so nice.

The water is full of silica, sulfur, bathing people, and some other things I think. The water was so warm but the air was very cold, so there was a lot of steam and it felt like a huge and foamy pool of wonder.
We then drove a couple hours to see some geysers. None of us have seen geysers before, and we thought they were explosively awesome. Emily may have clapped and cheered in the car when it splashed up upon arrival. It was just so exciting.
The name "geyser" comes from this geyser in Iceland named Geysir. So, we've met the pool of bubbly water that is the namesake for all other geysers in the world. It was quite the celebrity sighting.
Unfortunately for Mr. Geysir though, he's sort of old news. He used to erupt frequently, but since an earthquake in 1916 he's stopped. Now he's just a bubbly pot of water. Still cool though.
Now it's all about the geyser named Strokkur. This geyser erupts every 10 minutes, so we were able to see it go off about 5 times. It was so cool! We loved watching it, and it caught Lincoln by surprise each time. That was pretty funny.

Oh, and there was a fun gift shop near the geysers. Lincoln looked pretty rad next to this wooly sheep.
We left Iceland after seeing this church. We went up the elevator and got some great views of the city. It was gorgeous!
