La famille Turner habite en Chantilly

We are officially residents of Virginia! It's been about a month, and we've been busy to say the least. The actual move and drive was fairly smooth, except for that part where the moving truck could only go 45 in a 70...

"The Xterra truck is in back of the moving truck. That's so silly!"
-Lincoln
There was only one casualty of the move.
Our second Sunday in our new ward.
Lincoln dressed extra fancy.
We had the privilege of watching 5 of our nieces and nephews while Lance and Shelby went to Utah for a few days. It was so fun to let Lincoln and Zalie play with their cousins. It has been so much fun living 20 minutes from family. We are going to miss it when they move in October :(

We are living in a nice split-level home built in the 80s, and consider ourselves lucky for paying under $2000/month in rent. Yeah. We've got the upstairs decorated how we like it and just need to work on hanging things up in the rest of the house. We'd be done with that already, but Chad found a victorian couch for free on craigslist. So, of course, he had to pick it up and that's been our little project post-bedtime. This couch will be awesome if it actually works out. We got a sweet deal on fabric at $3/yard, and got super lucky by finding 9 foam pads at a garage sale for $9!!  That saved us over $40, and we'll have a ton of foam left over for future projects. Garage-Sale-ing-Papa-Butler is so proud! (but he would have got it for $5)

Before. Not bad, but the fabric was so nasty and
every time it moved, rusty upholstery nails
 fell out by the dozens.
In progress...
On labor day we went to Purcelville, VA with the Ashburn Turners. Shelby and I went shopping and I got a sweet lantern! Then, we took our canoe out on the Potomac. Good times. Good times.

This past friday we went to Frying Pan Farm and Park (which is right near our church building) and Lincoln enjoyed seeing all the animals and playing on the playground. You can never go wrong with a free farm visit.

We've enjoyed Virginia so far and are excited to venture into DC soon and see more of what makes our nation's capital so cool.
