We celebrated Lincoln's 3rd birthday last Monday and boy was he excited about it all day! We started the day off with him finding his presents. Then he got to open them and play with all his new toys (trains, shooters, clothes, race car tracks, chalk, and a scooter). I think his favorite part of the day though was having Grandpa and Grandpa Butler sing happy birthday to him on the phone. He loved it so much he requested it two more times throughout the day!

| Birthday tantrum with his new Spiderman Scooter! |
Overall, he had a great birthday. This little man is a little too smart these days and is already figuring out the loopholes in mommy and daddy's discipline and saying things like "That's not the deal!" when getting ready to go to bed or go to the potty. He is so loving to his sister and is the best big brother, although Zalie is starting to squawk her mind. He requests daily outings on his new scooter and walks to the dragon park. He loves playing at friends' houses. He talks about his many friends -ones from Durham, the Hague, Charlotte, and Chantilly- all the time. He loves to eat yogurt and peanut butter and jam sandwiches-no crust. His current catchphrase is "What did you say?" repeated about three times everytime you try to talk to him. His favorite color is pink, hence the "pink" strawberries on the cake and pink balloons, oh and the pink room he sleeps in. He fantasizes about his castle that has a lot of ballrooms (you know, rooms where you play with balls), a big garage with a truck and a semi-truck in it, and is located on the freeway. We are so lucky to have him in our family. He makes us smile each day. We can't believe it's been three years!
And here's his little sis stealing the last words on this birthday post...
