Uncle Gavin comes to town!

Chad went to Paris this past week (and experienced the thrilling catacombs), so when Gavin asked if he could come visit I was thrilled!  It was so much fun spending time with Gavin and Ambi. They kept us busy! After picking them up last Wednesday from the Reagan Airport, I got totally lost driving through DC (it was my first time!), but we ended up at the Zoo and we were all happy.

On Thursday we spent a full day in DC walking outside seeing all kinds of monuments! We saw the White House, Washington Monument, WWII Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King JR Monument, Jefferson Memorial, and so much more! We walked over 5 miles and the kids were exhausted. We went home (on the metro this time) while Gav and Ambi went to the Holocaust Museum.

On Friday I had Activity Days, so Gambi went to DC on their own and spent the day there going to lots of neat museums. After picking them up from the Metro, Gavin said he was sick and had thrown up. Not 5 minutes after, Lincoln threw up about 5 times in the car on our way home. It was so sad and so disgusting. I'm so glad Ambi was there because she helped me clean it all up! Love her already ;)

Saturday we took it easy so the sickies could get better. We went to Walmart, walked around the neighborhood, and saw a beaver dam and a fox.  Then I picked up Chad from the airport, came home, jumped my car (i left the light on after cleaning out the car), went to the Udvar-Hazy Museum, ate dinner, went to Sugar Mommas for ice cream, and then came home.

eating a cracker in the overlook.

On Sunday we went to church. After church we drove out to the Temple.

On Monday, today, we went to the Manassas/Bull Run battlefields. Then we ate chicken at Nando's. After, we drove through ritzy McLean to Great Falls National Park. It was our first time there and it was so pretty!

It wasn't until after this that we learned he wasn't
supposed to climb on the cannons. Oops.

Be prepared for our best Family Photos of 2016...

We did SO much with Gavin and Ambi and we loved it! I'm grateful they entertained me and kept me from missing Chad when he was away. Seriously, we love having visitors!
