Christmas Festivities 2016

We were spoiled this Christmas because Chad had 2 weeks off and we went to St George and spent a week with my whole family. It was awesome! We had a fun week here in VA first though. We loved seeing the Zoo Lights at the National Zoo.

We did Christmas a couple days early so that we didn't have to bring a ton of gifts to Utah. Lincoln's favorite gifts by far were his Nerf Gun and Stormtrooper Mask.

Zalie also got a Nerf Gun, but she was more  interested in her princess Rapunzel and My Little Pony.

We then had another small Christmas in St George. That was fun! We got to exchange sibling gifts in person. The best part was Chad hiding all the ties I made for my brothers and watching them find them.  They got a bit competitive.  We also surprised my parents by hiring a photographer to take family photos of us. That was awesome, and I love how the pics came out!

It snowed on Christmas, which was a dream come true for Chad. He also got to go skiing at Brianhead, which was another "pinch-me" moment. We went to Zion's National Park thinking we'd do an easy 1/2 mile hike with the kids. We didn't realize the paths would be covered in a sheet of ice. That didn't stop us though, much to Lincoln's dismay. The park was gorgeous covered in snow!

This girl proved herself to be a little Arctic Fox.
She loved hiking in the snow.
One great thing about being around so much family is that you have instant babysitters! So one night we went to the St. George temple while the kids were asleep. Then a few days later we took the kids to the visitors' center and learned more about the temple, including that it is actually red underneath the white plaster.

We also got to hike a bit on the petrified dunes in Snow Canyon (which is also where we took our family pics). It was so pretty and such a warm day.

On New Years Eve, Freeman, Gambi, and I hiked this volcano. It was cool. Even though I got light-headed on the top. Such a weird feeling. Definitely not used to this elevation.

We finished off our trip in Logandale, NV for a couple days. It was a lot of fun to relax and spend time with Lance and Shelby, all their kids, and Mushu. Such a great trip!

Cheers, 2016!
