Our Birthdays in 2016

We are way behind here. It's already January, and we haven't blogged about Lincoln's birthday back in September... Better late than never I guess. Lincoln turned 4 and Chad took the day off to celebrate at Mount Vernon (George Washington's home). It was a beautiful day! We got to see the gorgeous house, Potomac River, museum exhibits, and even the Blacksmith's making a metal ring. Way cool stuff.

We had a birthday party cook-out for Lincoln, which was so fun! After that, Zalie decided she needed some attention, so she swallowed a battery. We went from Urgent Care to two different Hospital's ER's all just to be sent home to let her poop out the battery.

Cheesy smiles while I'm photographing the battery
We're grateful she made it to her second birthday as her normal self! The battery did her no harm! We celebrated the day before her birthday by going to Appomattox Courthouse. It was a charming drive through the Virginia countryside.  This is where the Civil War officially ended, and it was a really cute little town.

In front of the house where Generals Lee and Grant
 signed papers ending the war.

Then, Chad went to Liverpool for a week, missing the Primary Program and the Ward Halloween Party, and returned on my Birthday! Happy 27 to me! I got to skip out of Sunday School to pick him up. Then he got to pick up the kids after primary and nursery. Oh the joy of living 10 minutes from an airport!!

Lincoln knows where all the presents are hidden.
Chad's 29th Birthday followed a couple weeks later in November. Zalie hid 2 presents under that couch. Then when I went upstairs, she opened them both. I had to re-wrap them so Chad could find them.

It's fun all having Fall birthdays. It's just one party after another :)
