Here is how we spent the remainder of our summer after our NY and UT trips. Chad worked a lot and went to DC 3 times for work. He was able to meet with Senators and Congressmen on Capital Hill. He loved it and loves his job! He's very happy with the work he's been doing with International Adoption this summer and hopes to have a full time offer after school... we'll see!!
That left a lot of time for Emily and Lincoln to have fun with their friends in the area. We're lucky because Lincoln has MANY friends! He's super social and loves anyone and everyone. We discovered a lake that's about a half hour away from us. Lincoln loved going there and we've been 3 times this summer. It's a great get-away.
When Daddy is home, there's no one else Lincoln wants to be around. Daddy is usually tired when he comes home, but Lincoln is ok with that. He just cuddles up next to Daddy and pretends to sleep next to him.
Emily has been sewing a lot this summer. She's made a lot of clothes for the new baby girl and for Lincoln. She's become obsessed with making little ties for Lincoln (and for all his friends who have birthdays). It's a fun project and the ties turn out so cute! Also, there's nothing like father and son matching!
We said goodbye to our friend's the Watsons :( They were our game night buddies, dinner buddies, babysitters, and so much more. We had so much fun with them the last 2 years! They are off to San Diego to have a real job! We're sad to see them go but so excited for their next adventure! We love you! We spent almost every night with them before they left and enjoyed some Maple View Farm ice cream. YUM!
Lincoln has learned so much this summer. One of the things he's learned is how to fold his arms and close his eyes for prayers. He even reminds us to pray before we leave in the morning. Talk about your child teaching you! To balance out this righteousness though, Chad thought it important to teach Lincoln the word 'crap.'
This is Lincoln's best friend! His name is Landon, but Lincoln calls him Nie Nie. Landon calls Lincoln Kie Kie. We've played with him just about every week this summer (and almost every day some weeks). These two get along so well and just love each other. They just giggle and scream in delight whenever they see each other. They're so fun.
With all the sewing Emily's been up to, Lincoln was bound to learn something. Here he's 'helping' Emily make little baby shoes.
And we'll leave this post with a 32 week pregnant Emily. She's got 2 months left!! We're so excited to meet our little girl :)
