More Museums!

We are a bit behind in our blogging. I guess that's what happens when we have so many adventures!! :)

The week before we went to Morocco we went the three museums. Keep reading to learn about one of Emily's most embarrassing moments...

The week started with Lincoln getting his very own "Mormon Book" in the mail. He'd loved going through Emily's scriptures, so she decided to order a pocket sized Book of Mormon just for him. He was so excited to get it in the mail! It was so cute to see his excitement to have his very own scriptures.

On Wednesday, we wanted to go to the Maurithaus Museum, but so did everyone's Grandma. Seriously, I think we got there at the same time a tour bus with retirees got there. The line was way too long to see the museum during Chad's lunch hour, so we walked up the street a bit and went to the  Hague History Museum. It was a small museum and perfect for us. Lincoln got to wear a headset and watch something in Dutch, Emily got to see some neat dollhouses, and Chad got to see paintings of Dutch Police. Not bad!

I think this was the only moment
Lincoln actually sat still.

Lincoln may or may not have just ran around through the entire
museum...
We went to the Dinosaur Museum with friends. We love that museum so much!!!

Lincoln and 'Ashton' They are sitting so close!

On another lunch break, we met up at Primark and bought swim suits for the entire family in preparation for Morocco. Chad also bought this watch for only 1 Euro!

On Saturday we decided to go to the Prison Gate Museum. We'd heard it was cool and Emily has walked past it tons of times. We got there and had some time to kill before the tour started, so we took a picture in front of the museum.

Here we are waiting for the tour. In those glass cases are torture instruments...
Little did we know that this is about all we were going to see of the museum. Notice, as usual, Lincoln is running around.

The tour was in Dutch, so we got headsets. The rooms had numbers and we just pushed the number on the headset to hear about the room. We got to room 2 before being warned we may have to leave the tour. Lincoln thought the headset was cool and kept pushing the buttons. He would scream when we tried to make him stop. Then Zalie started crying. We seriously only made it about 10 minutes into the tour before the second guide said "I'm going to have to ask you to leave the tour." Since it was Saturday the tour group was fairly large and the guide was competing with our noisy kids. We were bummed that we had to leave, but understood the reason why. When we left the tour, we checked Zalie and turns out she had a blow-out while Chad was wearing her in the Ergo. Emily went to change her diaper in the handicapped bathroom since the other toilets were tiny. There was no changing mat, so she put paper towels on the floor and plopped Zalie on them. While she was carefully trying to undress Zalie without getting her messy, an alarm went off. Emily thought this was weird, but kept going about changing Zalie. Then, someone knocked on the door to the bathroom. A security guard came in while Zalie was in a mess on the floor and Emily was huddled over her. Turns out Emily leaned up against the alarm button. The guard could not figure out how to turn it off, so he spent a few minutes in the bathroom until he found the off switch. He then left. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, while Emily was finishing up, she leaned against the alarm again! She quickly turned it off, but not quick enough because someone knocked to see if all was well in the bathroom. So much for trying to subtly change a diaper on the bathroom floor in a museum where we were just asked to leave. Emily came out of the bathroom and told Chad we needed to go.  It took her a while before telling Chad what had happened because she was so mortified. Chad's response was "Oh, I heard that alarm." haha, I guess the alarm was pretty loud!

With 3 museums down in one week, we were ready to leave Holland for a bit and head to the lovely African country of Morocco!
