The Monday after Easter we spent at Keukenhof. It was very cold, but we are getting used to that I guess. There was so much to do and see! We were excited to see fields of tulips, but they were not in bloom yet. That was so disappointing, but we were still able to see some tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and other flowers in the greenhouses.

These orange tulips were the only ones in bloom in the field.
We got to see a shoe maker make a wooden shoe out of a block of wood. It was so cool! He just wacked at the block with an ax and then it was a shoe. He carved Lincoln's name on a shaving of wood, too. It made a really neat souvenir for the little guy.
There were representatives from the cheese makers' guilds. They even took Emily and Lincoln for a ride on the cheese wagon things. It was really fun!

Lincoln really wanted to sit on that tractor.
This statue man was awesome! Lincoln was mesmerized by him and watched him for the longest time. Then, he took courage and finally went up to him. He thought it was so cool!
There was a little petting zoo in the middle of the garden, and Lincoln straight way declared "I want to touch the goats." Well, much to Emily's surprise since he did not want to touch the animals at the farm the week prior, touch them he did! He dragged Chad around and went from goat to goat saying "I want to touch that goat." He touched each goat about three times, then tried to touch the chickens and sheep. He was very brave around the animals.

This peacock was gorgeous!
This year is 125 years since Van Gogh's death (I think), so Keukenhof planted this mural for him. I'm sure it'll be pretty when it blooms...
On our way out of Keukenhof, we saw this field that was in bloom, so we had to pull over and take some pictures. They weren't tulips, but were gorgeous nonetheless.
